It has been a frustrating season to be a fantasy owner of O.J. Howard, after an incredibly slow, disappointing start to the season. However, he could be your ticket to a fantasy football championship in Week 16 against the Houston Texans, with both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin ruled out.

Two weeks ago, Evans was injured and is now on IR. Last week, Godwin suffered a hamstring injury that had him ruled out on Thursday. With those two on the shelf, the Buccaneers lose a combined 54.2 percent of this season's receiving yards and 44.5 percent of their targets. The team also lost receiver Scotty Miller to last week too, making the void even bigger.

This obviously opens the door for Breshad Perriman, but it also boosts the fantasy value of Howard, who has been much better lately, catching 13 of his 19 targets for 180 yards over the past three games.

This week, Howard faces a Texans defense that has surrendered the third-most fantasy points to tight ends over the past five weeks, allowing 450 yards to the position in that time.

Howard comes in at TE8 in our Week 16 PPR fantasy rankings, making him worthy of a start this week.
