Denver Broncos' rookie tight end Noah Fant has had a slow start to his NFL career, failing to exceed five receptions or 37 yards through his first eight games. Things won't get much easier heading into Week 9, now that Brandon Allen will be taking over at quarterback for the Broncos' matchup with the Cleveland Browns.

Allen, a sixth-round draft pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016, will be taking his first NFL regular season snap against the Browns in Week 9. The former Arkansas quarterback will likely be asked to hand the rock off a lot on Sunday, as the Broncos try to play ball-control offense against a Browns' defense permitting 4.8 yard per carry and 143.3 rushing yards per game this season.

Fant's value has been trending up recently, as he matched his season-high with five targets in Week 7 before seeing his role explode with nine targets and five receptions while playing a season-high 82 percent of the Denver Broncos' offensive snaps in Week 8 — his first game since Emmanuel Sanders was traded away.

This recent increase in volume does help insulate his fantasy football value, but the switch from Flacco to Allen at QB can be expected to be a hit to Fant's efficiency.

Fant draws a Browns' defense that is giving up middle-of-the-pack fantasy production to the tight end position this season. Despite the potential efficiency dip, his expanded role helps him land as the 10th-ranked TE in our Week 9 PPR fantasy football rankings.
