Nikola Jokic Continues Historic Triple-Double Binge

At this point, it's a surprise when Nikola Jokic doesn't record a triple-double. The two-time MVP nabbed another one on Wednesday night with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists against the Dallas Mavericks.
If it feels like Jokic has been ending up with a triple-double on a near-nightly basis, well, that's because he is.
Last night, Nikola Jokic recorded his 14th triple-double in his last 20 games.

Nikola Jokic Triple Double
Jokic's triple-double on Wednesday was his 14th in his last 20 games, making him just the second player in NBA history to rack up that many in a 20-game stretch. The only other player to do so is Russell Westbrook, who was a notorious stat-chaser during his heyday with the Oklahoma City Thunder a few years ago.
With Jokic, though, it never feels that way. His triple-doubles seem to happen more organically. He naturally gets lots of points and rebounds as a talented big man, and he also happens to be a great passer who's quick to find open teammates when he's double-teamed.
After a month and a half of steady triple-doubles, Jokic now has 21 of them in 51 games this season. He's actually averaging a triple-double on the year with 24.7 points, 11.5 rebounds and 10.1 assists per game, which has helped his Denver Nuggets to the best record in the Western Conference.
Time will tell how many more triple-doubles Jokic will get this year and if he'll wind up with his third straight MVP. The 27-year-old All-Star currently has the best MVP odds on FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds.
