Just a few weeks ago, Jalen Hurts was the favorite to win the NFL MVP Award. Now, he sits tied for third place in those odds after missing the teams Week 16 game.

Jalen Hurts Injury Update

Hurts is dealing with a shoulder injury that still has his status in doubt for the Philadelphia Eagles Week 17 game against the New Orleans Saints.

When asked if there was any update on Hurts, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni didn't provide a major indication either way, saying simply "We're still sorting through that."

If Hurts can't go, backup QB Gardner Minshew will once again get the start. The Eagles lost to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 16, but Minshew did play a big part in the offense putting up 34 points. Minshew had over 350 passing yards and 2 touchdowns, but also had two interceptions. The Eagles defense surrendered 40 points.

Hurts is a huge part in what makes this Eagles offense so dangerous, so getting him back and healthy for the playoffs is paramount.

The Eagles are currently 6.5-point home favorites against the New Orleans Saints in Week 17, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
