The NFL Trade Deadline kicked off with a bang. On Thursday night, the Carolina Panthers sent star running back Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a load of future draft capital.
In what's likely just the first of many blockbuster move before Nov. 1's official deadline, the NFL insiders over at The Athletic picked one player most likely to be traded from each franchise. Joe Buscaglia made his choice for the Buffalo Bills.
Buscaglia believes backup running back Zack Moss could be one player that doesn't fit into the championship equation. The Bills are considered prohibitive Super Bowl favorites (+300) on FanDuel Sportsbook, so they aren't necessarily a team looking to unload assets, rather add any missing pieces to make this dream come reality.
But, Moss is the one option to consider unloading. Buscaglia indicates there's strong belief rookie James Cook finally overtook Moss on the depth chart, and while the "Bills aren’t likely to get much for a seldom-used running back... a late-round pick swap would do the trick."
Bills fans will be much more in tune with any potential acquisitions the team makes before the deadline. Perhaps, Moss' roster spot can be better served to add some other areas of need such as secondary depth or getting their hands on a legitimate RB1.
