NBA MVP Odds Favor Surging Nikola Jokic in Final Weekend on FanDuel Sportsbook
As the NBA season winds down, reigning regular season MVP Nikola Jokic has made a huge push to take over as favorite to win the Most Valuable Player award. The Denver Nuggets center is now -330 on FanDuel Sportsbook's MVP odds board with Joel Embiid (+300) falling back. Two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo (+800) is the other contender.
Embiid has done his best to maintain his previous position as MVP favorite. The 76ers powerful center has scored 37, 29, 37, 29, 44, 45 and 30 points the last seven games while averaging 14 rebounds per game over that stretch. The 76ers have 49 wins and are 0.5-games behind the Boston Celtics in the Atlantic Division.
But Jokic became the MVP favorite a week ago following a triple-double on the road against Charlotte. Since then, the Nuggets star center has scored 37, 38, 38, 41 and 35 points to move Denver (48-33) into a tie with Utah atop of the Northwest Division with one game remaining. Jokic has also pulled down at least 16 rebounds in five of the last six games and he's now averaging 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds and 7.9 assists this season.
On April 7, Jokic became the first player in NBA history to produce 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 500 assists in a single season.
Jokic is your regular season MVP for the second straight year as Denver moves on to the playoffs for the fourth straight season.
