The Phoenix Suns failed to take the massive 3-0 lead in the NBA Finals on Sunday night after falling 120-100 to the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 3. Milwaukee was largely successful in slowing down the offensive onslaught that Chris Paul showed in Games 1 and 2.

The Phoenix Suns point guard still managed to put up 19 points and 9 assists, however, these numbers are closer to pedestrian compared to his performances earlier in the series. Despite the pivotal Game 3 loss, Paul still remains the heavy favorite to take home the NBA Finals MVP award on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Chris Paul Finals MVP Odds

Following the first two games, in which Paul averaged 27.5 points, 8.5 assists, 4 rebounds and 1 steal, Paul's odds sat at -140 to win Finals MVP. The Suns may have lost this important Game 3, but it wasn't thanks to a dismal performance from their veteran guard. In fact, Paul's leading odds have jumped to -260 ahead of Game 4.

Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo owns the second-leading odds for this distinguished hardware, coming in at +220 odds on FanDuel. He put up video-game-like numbers in Game 3, going for 41 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists.

Milwaukee's defense was the decisive factor in the Game 3 victory. It was the first time all series that the Bucks held all of Phoenix's scorers to less than 20 points. In Games 1 and 2, the Suns saw three players score 20+ points.

Paul will need to continue getting his fellow scores such as Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton involved if they want to take that commanding 3-1 series lead in Game 4. If he's able to accomplish that, there's a good chance his Finals MVP odds will skyrocket as this series moves on. Currently, Milwaukee is a 4-point favorite heading into Game 4.
