NBA DFS 3/23/2022

Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Wednesday, 3/23, NBA DFS action.

FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 3/23

Joel Embiid Fantasy

Target Joel Embiid, C, Philadelphia 76ers ($11,000): Targeting Joel Embiid to anchor your lineup tonight is a smart idea for a variety of reasons. A number of other top center options have tough matchups, while Embiid is set to face a Los Angeles Lakers defense that allows the fourth-most points in the paint per game this season (51.0). The five-time All-Star is rested and should have no trouble scoring against the likes of Dwight Howard and Wenyen Gabriel. It's worth pointing out that Embiid averages 30.4 points, 9.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 7 career games against the Lakers. He is well worth the high price tag.

Tyus Jones Fantasy

Target Tyus Jones, PG, Memphis Grizzlies ($4,300): This recommendation has more to do with opportunity than anything else. Memphis star Ja Morant is out with a knee injury tonight, which should move Tyus Jones into the starting lineup once again. The Duke product poured in 13 points and dished out 7 assists in 30 minutes played on Sunday. That level of production doesn't come very often at a $4,300 price tag. The Brooklyn Nets allow the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing point guards and rank outside the top 15 in terms of defensive efficiency. The upside Jones has on Wednesday night makes him the perfect PG to slide into your lineup.

Drew Eubanks Fantasy

Target Drew Eubanks, C/PF, Portland Trail Blazers ($5,600): Another player with a price tag that doesn't really fit with his recent production is Portland big man Drew Eubanks. The 25-year-old is averaging 15.5 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists over his last six games and draws a great matchup on Wednesday night. The Spurs play at the fifth-highest pace in the NBA despite only ranking 23rd in defensive efficiency. San Antonio is also allowing the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing centers. Eubanks is going to have revenge on his mind against his former team and will not fly under the radar for much longer. Jump on this price now before it gets any higher.

Karl-Anthony Towns Fantasy

Avoid Karl-Anthony Towns, C, Minnesota Timberwolves ($10,000): The simple fact that Karl-Anthony Towns may be on a minutes limit due to his forearm injury makes him a player to avoid. A matchup against the Phoenix Suns doesn't help, either. Head coach Monty Williams' team owns the third best defensive efficiency mark in the NBA and allows just 106.5 points per game (T-No. 6 in NBA). The presence of Deandre Ayton looms large as well given Phoenix gives up the seventh-fewest fantasy points to opposing centers. Towns has had some amazing performances lately, but this lines up to be a tough game for him. Save the money to use elsewhere.

Russell Westbrook Fantasy

Avoid Russell Westbrook, PG, Los Angeles Lakers ($8,200): The only thing keeping Russell Westbrook relevant from a fantasy perspective is the high amount of minutes he plays every night (34.5). Other than that, it has been a disappointing season for the veteran point guard. Westbrook is averaging 18.1 points and 7.5 rebounds, which are his lowest marks since his 2015 season with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Philadelphia is giving up the third-fewest fantasy points to opposing PGs and forced Westbrook to commit 6 turnovers in their last matchup on January 27. The downside outweighs the upside here and there's an abundance of better options at this price tag.
