NBA DFS 1/12/2022
Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Wednesday, 1/12, NBA DFS action.
FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 1/12
Joel Embiid Fantasy
Target Joel Embiid, C, Philadelphia 76ers ($10,900): Joel Embiid is on a scoring tear, putting up 31 or more points in each of his last seven games. Embiid's doing it all for the Philadelphia 76ers, and his average of 56.5 FanDuel fantasy points during this stretch reflects that. He draws one of the best matchups for a big man in the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday. Charlotte gives up not only the second-most PPG, but also the second-most RPG. The Hornets play at the league's second-fastest pace as well, which should lead to plenty of rebounding opportunities for Embiid.
Kyle Kuzma Fantasy
Target Kyle Kuzma, SF/PF, Washington Wizards ($8,900): Kyle Kuzma has taken charge in the Washington Wizards' offense lately. Kuzma is averaging 27.7 PPG, 12.2 RPG and 2.8 APG over his last six games, notching three outings of 50-plus fantasy points during this stretch with his low at 39.8. Kuzma's surge on the boards gives his fantasy upside an added boost, and he'll be the Wizards' top scoring option with Bradley Beal out tonight. The Wizards forward draws an Orlando Magic team that he torched for 27 points and 22 rebounds on Jan. 9, so expect him to keep the good times rolling.
Malik Monk Fantasy
Target Malik Monk, SG, Los Angeles Lakers ($5,500): Getting Malik Monk at this price seems like a steal. Monk has started each of the last seven games, and he's lit it up with 20.0 PPG on 51.0% shooting from the field and 48.1% from deep. He's also added 3.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game to round out his nightly box score numbers. The scoring-minded guard could pop off against a weak Sacramento Kings defense that gives up the third-most PPG and allows opponents to shoot 46.9% from the field (fourth highest in the league) against them.
Julius Randle Fantasy
Avoid Julius Randle, PF/C, New York Knicks ($8,500): Julius Randle is on a concerning downward trend. After putting up 55.2 fantasy points in his return from a two-game absence, he's followed that up with 40.6, 33.4 and 20.9 over his last three games. Randle has struggled to shoot the ball over his last two outings, averaging just 7.5 PPG along with an abysmal 26.9% from the field. There's nothing about his recent performances that makes him worth trusting in your lineups on Wednesday.
Russell Westbook Fantasy
Avoid Russell Westbrook, PG, Los Angeles Lakers ($8,400): Russell Westbrook's play as of late has been less than inspiring. He's averaging 32.4 fantasy points over his last four games, and the NBA's triple-double king has managed to record just one double-double during that time. Westbrook has failed to crack double-digit scoring in each of his past two games, and with his rebound/assist numbers in that territory as well, it's hard to find anything that makes him an attractive play.
