The Cleveland Browns have, for much of the past 20 years, been the NFL's poster child for failure. And while many might point to their record as proof of that, building a winning team and culture in the NFL starts with the draft. No one is suggesting you have to hit on every draft pick or even every top pick, but you do need to see some form of success, and the Browns simply have not seen any, until recently.

Out of the 12 picks they've made in the first round of the draft since 2011, including a handful at No. 1 overall, Myles Garrett just became the first one to sign a second contract with the Browns.

Just reading that, it almost seems impossible to miss on 11 of 12 first-round picks. Mind you, it doesn't take a future Hall of Famer to deserve a second contract. All you really need to be is a solid contributor, or starter.

Since the Garrett selection, it does look like there will be others that fit this mold, including Baker Mayfield and Denzel Ward, the Browns' first-round picks from 2018. But then again, nothing is guaranteed until there is pen on paper.
