3 Most Likely Trade Destinations for Drew Lock

Denver Broncos QB Drew Lock has had a disappointing start to his NFL career. He was taken 42nd overall in the 2019 NFL Draft but hasn't been able to have success as a starting quarterback yet.
Through two seasons, Lock has started 18 games for the Broncos, completing just 59.1% of his passes for 3,953 passing yards and 23 touchdowns to 18 interceptions. While it's still early in his career, the Broncos can't make a meaningful playoff push as long as that's who Lock is.
There have been plenty of rumors that the Broncos will look to select a new signal-caller with the No. 9 pick of the draft. If that's the case, Lock's time in Denver could be over and maybe a change of scenery is what Lock needs to unlock his potential. His cap hit is just $1.9 this year and $2.2 million in 2022, so he's more than affordable for any interested teams.
Keeping that in mind, here are three possible trade destinations for Lock.
Drew Lock Trade Rumors
3. Detroit Lions
Despite being the Detroit Lions' current No. 1 quarterback, there's no guarantee that Jared Goff will succeed as we've yet to see him play a game for them. If the Lions aren't convinced that he's the future of the franchise and don't want to use the No. 7 pick to draft a quarterback, they could take a swing at Lock. He's young enough that they can turn his career around. Plus, they can use their first-round pick on finding a difference-maker at another position.
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
There are rumors that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be looking for a quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft to be Tom Brady's successor. Instead, they can use their picks to address other positions and take a flyer on Lock. If there's anyone who can teach him about being a successful NFL signal-caller, it's Brady. Lock would just have to sit on the bench and take in all the information while also being a part of a winning culture.
1. New England Patriots
Speaking of Brady, the New England Patriots are also looking for a quarterback this offseason. While trading up from No. 15 at the draft to grab a quarterback is tempting, they could also save that capital and trade for Lock. His stock is at an all-time low and if anyone can be his miracle worker, it's Bill Belichick, one of the greatest minds in the game. He can work on getting Lock back on track and, hopefully, revitalize his career before it's too late.
