Both the American League and National League playoff races are heating up. Some clear favorites have emerged in the race for the various division titles, but the Wild Card hunt remains tight in both leagues.

The New York Yankees have gone from being the hottest team in baseball to now being one of the coldest teams, and out of the Wild Card spots in the American League. They sit 1.0 game back of both the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox in that regard. The San Diego Padres have also come back and regained the second NL Wild Card spot on a tiebreaker with the Cincinnati Reds.

While the MLB playoff picture can change on a daily basis, it's good the know where things stand at the beginning of each week.
