Although last year was a disappointment, the Minnesota Vikings are fired up heading into the 2021 campaign. This team returned a number the two-headed monster of receivers with Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen. Furthermore, Minnesota still owns +270 odds to win the NFC North, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
But, with the team in training camp, there remains one sour note. That includes the absence of DE Danielle Hunter and his reported disdain for his current contract. Hunter has yet to show up for camp and head coach Mike Zimmer recently weighed in on the situation.

Zimmer doesn't sound overly confident with his most recent quotes regarding the situation. If anything, the Vikings seem rather uneasy about the entire situation. "We'll see when minicamp shows up," said Zimmer.
The absence will be glaring if this situation isn't resolved as the season approaches. Hunter is a two-time Pro Bowl selection and had a combined 29 sacks over his last two seasons between missing the entirety of 2020 with neck surgery.
Hunter is set to earn $12.2 million this season and $11.4 million in each of the following two seasons, which isn't quite a top-10 salary among edge rushers in the NFL.
When healthy he clearly deserves top-10 money, but the Vikings have plenty of reason to be cautious and want to see how he looks on the field before giving him a new contract after such a serious injury.
