Mike Trout Shares Honest Assessment of Groin Injury

To make matter worse, superstar Mike Trout left Tuesday's game early with tightness in his left groin area. The nine-time All-Star relayed an honest assessment of his injury to new manager Phil Nevin following the game.

Fortunately, Trout's assessment brings Angels fans some promise. The three-time MVP told Nevin he "doesn't seem too alarmed" regarding to ailment, but the Angels will undergo further testing on Wednesday.

Angels fans should pay close attention to the results of Wednesday's further testing, but Trout seems to have avoided a major scare. Groins are tricky, so there's a distinct possibility Trout will need at least a few days of rest before suiting back up.

It cannot go understated the importance of Trout's power bat in the lineup. He is slashing .284/.388/.601 with 14 home runs and 30 RBIs. Shohehi Ohtani and Jared Walsh are the only Angels with more RBIs in 2022.
