The Detroit Tigers' 3-5 start to the season hasn't been exciting, and it has them sitting at the bottom of the AL Central.

Especially unexciting has been the play of 37-year-old Miguel Cabrera. He went yard on Opening Day, but is slashing an abysmal .125/.222/.292 on the year.

And now things are getting worse for Cabrera. The Tigers just placed Miggy on the 10-day injured list with a left biceps strain.

Renato Nunez replaces Cabrera on the active roster, and at this stage it looks like Nunez is actually an upgrade over Cabrera anyway. The 27-year-old hit for a .256/.324/.492 triple-slash in 2020, beating Cabrera in both batting average and slugging.

Detroit's next game comes on Sunday afternoon against the Cleveland Indians. FanDuel Sportsbook's odds have the Tigers as +152 underdogs.
