The Dallas Cowboys are excited about rookie linebacker Micah Parsons. According to reports, Parsons eyed joining the Cowboys long before his college days at Penn State were over. That dream came true when Dallas selected him at No. 12 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Parsons is a fierce competitor, apparently both on and off the football field. While the rookie is already impressing at early team OTAs, he's also building chemistry and competition with his new teammates. The Penn State product recently took to Instagram to challenge wide receiver Amari Cooper in an off-field competition that fans may find surprising. Chess.

In his series of Instagram story posts, Parsons reveals his dominance over fellow rookie Simi Fehoko in a friendly game of chess. In the same post, he also calls out Cooper for ducking him. It looks like Parsons has been requesting a game between him and Cooper, a request that Cooper seems to be avoiding.

Cooper responded, telling Parsons that he's "not even half as good," on the chess board. Only time will tell if this dream chess matchup becomes a reality. We'll see which of the Cowboys gets the last laugh. Still, this is a great sign that Parsons seems to be fitting right in with his new team, fellow rookies and veterans included.

Currently, Dallas owns the sixth-best odds (+1300) to win the NFC next season, according to the latest NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
