Atlanta Falcons' quarterback Matt Ryan has always been known to be able to air the ball out, but it seems the veteran may still has some tricks up his sleeve in the running game as well. According to PFF, Ryan comes in as the highest-graded quarterback on scrambles so far this season.

This may come as a surprise given Ryan hasn't exactly built a reputation as a dual-threat quarterback, but it isn't like he can't run. Ryan has graded in the 70.0s in this category for the past few years but has now jumped to a league-leading 91.1 grade this season.

It is noteworthy to take into account how much less Ryan is scrambling compared to some of the quarterbacks graded near him, though. Both Josh Allen and Russell Wilson graded in the 80.0s and have been forced to scramble more than twice the amount of times Ryan has.

The Falcons are currently struggling to stay afloat in the NFC Wild Card race with a 3-6 record. While Ryan is leading the way with 2,746 passing yards and 16 total touchdowns, the team is struggling to keep up with other teams as they are giving up 27.9 points per game this season (No. 25 in the NFL).

It'll be interesting to see if Ryan is able to keep up his efficiency when scrambling out of the pocket for the rest of the season. Nevertheless, it is safe to say he is outperforming expectations in that category so far.
