While there hasn't been a ton of good news coming from the Miami Marlins this season with their 39-50 overall record, there have been chances to see some exciting prospects. That includes outfielder Jesus Sanchez, the No. 5 prospect in Miami's system.

Unfortunately for Miami, it looks like Sanchez is headed to the injured list with an undisclosed injury.

Jesus Sanchez Injury Update

The 23-year-old outfielder has shown exactly why he's one of the top prospects in Miami over the past two seasons. He's made two brief MLB stints in 2020 and 2021 for a total of 33 games. The sample size is small, but Sanchez is slashing .265/.315/.434 this year with 3 home runs and 9 RBIs.

This Marlins team is already on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoffs hunt. Miami owns just +5000 odds to win the NL East division on FanDuel Sportsbook. Hopefully Sanchez can use this stint on the IL to get fully healthy and return to show off his skills at the MLB level.
