Marlins Get Great News on Starling Marte Injury Update

It's been more than a month since Miami Marlins fans last got to see outfielder Starling Marte take to the field. He's been out of the lineup since April 18 when he suffered a fractured rib while taking a swinging during a game against the San Francisco Giants. Fortunately, the Marlins got some great news in their outfielder's latest injury update.
Marlins MLB.com reporter Christina De Nicola tweeted out on Friday that Marte was on the field for the team's batting practice. He might still be a couple of weeks away from returning, but Friday's development is extremely promising.

Starling Marte Injury Update
Marte's positive injury update couldn't have come at a better time. The Marlins are currently 20-23, sitting in 3rd place in the NL East. The division is so close that only 4.5 games separate the 1st-place New York Mets and the last-place Washington Nationals.
The two-time Gold Glove winner was having a pretty good campaign before getting hurt. Through 57 at-bats, Marte has recorded 18 hits for 2 home runs and 8 RBIs. He's also slashing at .316/.420/.491, so it would be nice for Miami if he hasn't lost a step once he gets back to the lineup. He's been out of in-game action for over a month, so expectations should be tempered upon his return.
As it stands, the Marlins' odds to win their division don't look great. FanDuel Sportsbook has listed their odds to win the NL East at +4000. Even with Marte back on the field, Miami will have a tough time convincing oddsmakers to point the odds in their favor.
