Fresh off a College Football Playoff National Championship title, the LSU Tigers continue to see success. Most recently, this came in the 2020 NFL Draft, where we saw the LSU name come up many times over the course of the three-day draft.

In fact, we saw them so many times that LSU jumped three spots in the all-time rankings for most players drafted, moving the Tigers into the top-10 spots.

LSU NFL Draft Record

LSU had 14 players drafted over the course of seven rounds, tying the record for most players selected in one draft, after Ohio State did it in 2004. With 14 players drafted, LSU improved to 352 total NFL Draft picks and leap-frogged the Miami Hurricanes (350), Tennessee Volunteers (348) and Texas Longhorns (347) to move to 10th on the all-time list.

Along with tying the record of most draft picks, LSU was also very present in the first round, Of course, Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Joe Burrow was the first overall player selected, being drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Following Burrow in the first round was outside linebacker K'Lavon Chaisson, wide receiver Justin Jefferson, inside linebacker Patrick Queen and running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire. All five players are expected to be Week 1 starters on their new respective teams too.

LSU has now had a total of 352 players drafted, which is incredibly impressive. However, the Tigers still have a long way to go if they're going to catch USC, who have had 512 players picked, or Notre Dame, who have just one less than the Trojans (511). Ohio State (463), Oklahoma (397) and Michigan (379) complete the top-5 schools in total draft picks.
