Heading into the All-Star break last week, LeBron James was favored to win the NBA MVP award for the 2020-21 season.

Despite the fact that the league has been on break for the last week, FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA MVP odds suddenly favor Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid as teams prepare to return to action on Wednesday.

LeBron's odds have plummeted from +170 to +260, even though he has only played in one game since he was last favored.

Oh, and in that one game? He went 16-of-24 from the field, dropping 38 points to go with 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.

Embiid, on the other hand, vaulted from +350 to +190. That move was on the back of an admittedly outstanding 40-point, 19-rebound showing against the Utah Jazz, but one single game in the middle of the regular season shouldn't cause such a drastic swing.

Whether he's the betting favorite or not, Lakers fans have to be feeling pretty good about The King's chances of taking home another NBA MVP award, not to mention another NBA Championship.
