The Baltimore Ravens' running back carousel continues to turn during the 2021 NFL season. Starter Latavius Murray has been downgraded to out against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7 due to an ankle injury. The Ravens will turn to the next man up, which is projected to be veteran Devonta Freeman.

Devonta Freeman Fantasy Outlook

Freeman took advantage of his opportunity in Week 6, rushing for 53 yards and 1 touchdown on 9 carries against the Los Angeles Chargers. The eighth-year pro is now averaging an impressive 5.9 yards per carry behind what is one of the best offensive lines in the NFL.

Fellow RBs Le'Veon Bell and Ty'Son Williams should see some work in the passing game, but Freeman is still in line to see double-digit carries. The Ravens have posted a rushing play percentage of 47.5% this season and average 31.7 rushing attempts per game. Both of those rank within the top five highest marks in the league.

Fantasy managers have to be careful here, though. The Bengals have posted the fourth-best rush defense DVOA rating and are allowing only 90.5 rushing yards per game (No. 7 in NFL). However, Freeman's expected volume alone makes him a viable option given six teams are on a bye.

Freeman has solid RB3 upside this week and is a great FLEX option for teams in search of depth.
