K.J. Hamler Injury Update Could Boost Courtland Sutton Fantasy Outlook
By Max Staley

K.J. Hamler has struggled with injuries throughout his brief career. And year two appears to be no different. Hamler was forced to leave in Week 3 due to a knee injury.

Hamler was really well positioned to take a leap forward this year. Jerry Jeudy's injury created a big hole at WR, and Hamler felt like a logical candidate to take on some of that volume. That never really happened, as Hamler saw just 3 targets in Week 2 and has just 7 on the year.
Part of the reason for that limited usage is the role Hamler plays though. He's a deep threat, who has an average depth of target (aDOT) of 20.0 on the year. It's an extremely small sample size, but that's the seventh-highest aDOT in the league.
Courtland Sutton Fantasy
If Hamler misses any time, Courtland Sutton could be asked to do a bit more. That might not lead to a lot more volume for Sutton, but he could be asked to do a bit more downfield.
If he starts seeing those high-leverage targets from Teddy Bridgewater, Sutton could be on the verge of a breakout stretch.
