Julio Jones is one of the best wide receivers ever. He's the only player in NFL history who has strung together six straight seasons with at least 1,350 receiving yards. At 31 years old, there's no reason to believe he'll slow down now.
And from a fantasy perspective, he should be in for another top-five WR finish in 2020.
Julio Jones Fantasy Football Outlook
Jones is currently coming off the board with an average draft position (ADP) of WR5, per FantasyPros. He's a fantastic player to target at that slot, coming off a WR3 finish in 2019.
Jones has been a top-four option in back-to-back years now – that shouldn't change in 2020. The offense is more-or-less the same, save for some new blood at tight end and running back, and Julio clearly hasn't lost a step.
The only knock against him is his strange aversion to the end zone, having averaged just 6.2 TDs per year over his last six seasons. For comparison, there have only been 11 seasons in NFL history in which a WR recorded at least 1,400 receiving yards but scored 6 or fewer touchdowns. Three of those 11 seasons belong to Julio. He's the only player ever to have done that three times.
Usually, that would make him a candidate for TD regression, but astronomical yardage totals and middling TD numbers appear to be the norm for Julio. There's always a chance luck is on his side in 2020, but he generates enough points off catches and yards for that not to matter much.
Jones is locked in as our WR5 in our 2020 fantasy football rankings.
