JC Jackson Injury: Chargers' Corner Has Ankle Surgery, Week 1 Status Uncertain

The Chargers announced on Tuesday that $82.5 million cornerback J.C. Jackson underwent ankle surgery and will miss 2-to-4 weeks, putting his availability for Week 1 against the Raiders in question.
J.C. Jackson Injury Update
Jackson most likely underwent arthroscopic ankle surgery, according to the Pro Football Docs, and the length of his absence is difficult to predict as it will depend on how his ankle responds.
So 2-4 week timetable for J.C. Jackson's return. Two weeks would mean he is ready for the opener. Four weeks would mean he misses the first two games of the season, vs. LV and at KC.

The 26-year-old pro-bowler will have 19 days to recover from the minimally-invasive procedure in time for Week 1, which isn't out of the question.
Once he returns to the field, Jackson shouldn't be hampered by the issue, which was “minor” according to Ian Rapoport.
Just a scope and pretty minor. https://t.co/GdMTXB7BrM

In three years as a starter for the Patriots, Jackson played all 49 possible games and never appeared on the injury report for an ankle injury.
Jackson made 58 total tackles and led the NFL with 23 passes defended in 2021, and has made an NFL-best 22 interceptions over the last three seasons.
