Los Angeles Rams starting quarterback John Wolford was forced to leave Saturday's Wild Card game after suffering what looked to be an impactful neck injury. Jared Goff had to be called into action just two weeks after going through thumb surgery, but led the team to a 30-20 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.
As the Rams move on to the divisional round, all eyes are set on which quarterback will be ready to go for the next game. The team did receive some good news as it looks like both Goff and Wolford avoided any type major injury this past weekend.
Jared Goff and John Wolford Injury Updates
Having a healthy quarterback room as they endure a postseason run would be huge for the Rams. Although Goff led the team to a win, his passing was not on par as he finished the game completing just 9 of 19 pass attempts for 155 yards and 1 touchdown. It is unknown whether Goff has reclaimed his role as the team's starter just yet.
In limited time this season, Wolford has completed 25 of 44 pass attempts for 260 yards and zero touchdowns. He has also thrown an interception. It's not often we have a QB controversy at this point in the playoffs, but no one truly knows what Head Coach Sean McVay is thinking right now.
If both truly are "OK", however, then Rams fans can expect Goff to be back under center. And hopefully that will mean he looks more like his usual self than he did on Saturday.
This is a storyline to watch all the way up until game time next weekend. No matter who starts at quarterback, it'll be a sign of true strength given the injuries both of these players are currently battling.
