All eyes will be on the Jacksonville Jaguars when they go on the clock with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The opportunity to add talent doesn't end after that, though. Mel Kiper projects the team to address a major need and land a massive steal in Round 2 of his latest mock draft.

Jaguars Mock Draft

Kiper has Jacksonville lined up as the landing spot for center Tyler Linderbaum at No. 33 overall. This could not be a more perfect pick for a Jaguars team that saw starting center Brandon Linder retire this offseason. Linderbaum is widely considered a first-round talent and a day-one NFL starter.

The Iowa product may get passed up on due to the fact that he doesn't have the prototypical size of an NFL center. Linderbaum stands at 6-foot-2 and weighs 296 pounds, but none of that mattered when he was on the field. The 22-year-old stood his ground against the Big Ten's top pass rushers.

Linderbaum started 33 career games for the Hawkeyes and received the Rimington Trophy in 2021 as the nation's top center. It's worth noting he was also the highest-graded center by Pro Football Focus in years.

The tape on Linderbaum says it all. He regularly pushed defensive lineman backwards and could be found 20 yards down the field on screen plays. Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz also pushed how much Linderbaum simply loves to play the sport and gives his best effort with every snap of the football.

The Jaguars can only hope Linderbaum doesn't hear his name called on Day 1 of the 2022 NFL Draft.
