The Cleveland Indians earned a 2-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday night, and that moved them above .500, to 7-6 on the season.

They still rank just third in the AL Central, but the season is young, and they've now moved into the top 10 in odds to win the World Series on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Before the season, Cleveland ranked 12th in the MLB with +2600 odds. As of Thursday morning, that has improved to +2300, and they're tied with the Chicago Cubs for ninth in the MLB.

It's not hard to see why they've made that climb either. As a team, their 2.21 ERA is the best in the majors, and it's backed up by a 3.10 fielding independent pitching (FIP) mark that ranks No. 2.

They've had a rough go of things offensively, with an egregious .181 batting average as a team, but that mark is also so low that it's sure to bounce back. Even if their offensive output remains in the bottom half of the league, getting an up-tick to go along with their strong pitching will make them a force to be reckoned with.

Of course, there's still a lot of baseball to play even in this shortened regular season, so we can expect to see them bounce around in the odds a bunch as we start to get a better idea of just how good their pitching (and just how bad their offense) really is.
