It's been a little over a month since Franmil Reyes has made an appearance in the Cleveland Indians' starting lineup. The 25-year-old primary DH has been sidelined since May 22 with a troublesome oblique injury.
Cleveland has played below .500 baseball (12-14) since Reyes' absence but has managed to stay within 2.5 games of the first-place Chicago White Sox. Fortunately for Cleveland, this roster will be getting some pop back in their lineup very shortly.
Cleveland Indians News
According to reports, it looks like Reyes should be activated on Saturday. The Indians' slugger will continue his rehab assignment throughout this week. If all goes according to plan, Reyes will be back for the middle game of a three-game set with the Houston Astros.
Reyes currently has 11 home runs and 29 RBI in 144 at-bats this season while slashing .257/.316/.576. His home run power should be a huge boost to the organization. Right now, Cleveland ranks just 17th in the league with 89 total home runs. Throughout his four-year MLB career, Reyes averages 35 home runs across 162 games.
The Indians will continue to battle it out in the AL Central division this season and currently own the second-best odds (+450) to take home the division crown on FanDuel Sportsbook.
