For years, "daily fantasy sports" has been synonymous with the salary cap format. FanDuel is giving fantasy sports fans a new way to play, however, with the launch of daily fantasy snake drafts.

What is a Daily Fantasy Snake Draft?

A daily fantasy snake draft is a combination of two of the most popular fantasy sports formats. It's a DFS contest in that you're drafting a roster just for one slate of games, but the draft is more like what you're used to in your typical fantasy football home leagues, with players in the league taking turns making selections.

How to Play FanDuel Snake Drafts

To play daily fantasy snake drafts on FanDuel, first sign up if you haven't, then head to the FanDuel lobby to view available contests. To view only snake draft contests, use the "Snake Draft" option under the "game styles" tab.

How do FanDuel Snake Drafts Work?

A FanDuel snake draft begins as soon as the league is filled. You and your opponents each draft six players from the pool of all available players. There is no salary cap, but once a player is selected they are no longer available for the other teams. After the draft, you score points just like you would in any other FanDuel contest.

The simplicity of this format is where it really shines. Combining the most recognizable type of fantasy draft with the fun of daily fantasy contests makes this an accessible and exciting way to expand your DFS horizons.
