It may just be Week 13 of the 2022 NFL season, but the Minnesota Vikings are 9-2 and one of just three teams in the league with at least nine or more wins. Thanks to the relative weakness of the other NFC North teams, the Vikings should already be thinking about the playoff picture.

In fact, the Vikings have an opportunity to clinch the NFC North division title with five weeks left to play. Here's exactly how Minnesota can accomplish this feat in Week 13.

It all starts with a win. The Vikings host the New York Jets (7-4) on Sunday. New York's record is impressive, especially considering their preseason expectations, but they are dealing with a flurry of quarterback controversy after replacing Zach Wilson as the starter in Week 12. Minnesota is considered an early 3-point home favorite, according to NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.

The Vikings still need help from a division opponent in order to capture their first division title since 2017. Vikings fans should pay close attention to the Detroit Lions (4-7), who host the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 13. A Minnesota win combined with a Lions loss or tie will give the Vikings their division title.

It won't all come down to a win, however. The Vikings can still lose in Week 13 and if the Lions lose, the division title is still Minnesota's.

As pointed out by NFL insider Joe Ferreira, clinching the division with five weeks left to play is a rare feat. Only six NFL teams have accomplished this feat, including the 1973 Vikings (12-2), the '85 Chicago Bears (15-1, won Super Bowl) and the 2007 New England Patriots (16-0, lost Super Bowl).

Minnesota currently holds +1700 odds (T-7th) to win Super Bowl 57 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
