The New York Giants might be the biggest surprise so far this NFL season. A team expected to be quite bad once again now holds a 6-1 record and looks like a legitimate team under new head coach Brian Daboll. One piece of tough news they did receive in Week 7 was rookie standout tight end Daniel Bellinger suffered a scary eye injury, apparently fracturing his eye socket and septum.
Daniel Bellinger Injury Update
The 4th round pick was starting to become a legitimate part of the Giants offensive attack, which has struggled with injuries in the pass catcher department so far this season.
Bellinger's numbers don't exactly jump off the page with 16 catches, 152 yards and 2 touchdowns, but watching the games, his impact seems far greater than the numbers represent. He's had a handful of crucial catches in big moments and has been a reliable target and safety net for quarterback Daniel Jones in tough spots.
Bellinger has actually lead the team in receiving yards in two of the Giants last four games, both wins. There's no official timetable on how long Bellinger will be sidelined, but however long it is, he'll be missed by their offense.
