The Houston Texans' secondary has been among the worst in the league, giving up 293.4 passing yards per game (fifth-worst mark in the NFL) and 18 passing touchdowns (fourth-worst mark in the NFL). With these collective defensive struggles, Sunday's Week 9 game in London is shaping up to be a solid matchup for Jacksonville Jaguars' receiver DJ Chark.
Over in London, the Jaguars are the designated home team against the division rival Texans. The first meeting between these two teams earlier this season was a low-scoring, 13-12 win for the Texans, but they still allowed Chark to finish the game with seven catches for 55 yards and one touchdown.
Ranking as WR5 in PPR scoring through eight weeks, Chark looks to have another solid game against Houston, who lost their best pass-rusher in J.J. Watt to injury for the remainder of the season last week.
With Gardner Minshew likely to see more time in the pocket as a result, he should be able to target the downfield routes more often and accurately, which bodes well for Chark. Chark as an average depth of target of 11.9 yards this season, which means Minshew needs more time up front in order to let plays for Chark develop.
Along with the lesser pass rush, Chark also sees a terrific matchup against a defense that surrenders the second-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. He also has a great individual matchup with Gareon Conley, who has given up five touchdowns (second-most in NFL) and 334 yards this season.
Heading into the Week 9 matchup, Chark sits as WR12 in our PPR Rankings.
