The 2019 Preakness Stakes, which takes place this Saturday, May 18, features 13 3-year-old horses vying for the second leg of the Triple Crown. With Kentucky Derby winner Country House officially out of the Preakness, this race looks wide open. Improbable is the early favorite at 5/2, though War of Will is hot on his tail at 4/1, according to TVG.

As it's always smart to hear what those in the industry have to say before placing a bet, here are some expert predictions for the 2019 Preakness Stakes.

Preakness Predictions

Bleacher Report

Steve Silverman, of Bleacher Report, likes Improbable to come away with the win at Pimlico. He notes that Improbable is trained by Bob Baffert, who is one of the best trainers in the business.

CBS Sports

Jody Demling, of CBS Sports, is leaning toward War of Will to win the Preakness Stakes. Demling likes the horse's potential and argues that War of Will would've had a better showing at the Kentucky Derby had the horse not gotten "caught up in a scruff" with Maximum Security.

The team at Covers is also going with Improbable to win the 2019 Preakness. The staff at Covers argues that Improbable could have a huge advantage now that Mike Smith is the horse's jockey.

Two of the experts are taking Improbable to win the Preakness, while CBS Sports is leaning toward picking War of Will to win the race.
