Arizona Diamondbacks 3B/2B Eduardo Escobar did not play in Monday's night's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. D-Backs manager Torey Lovullo later revealed that the 11-year MLB veteran is hindered with a slight right quad strain. However, the injury is minor and Escobar plans to continue playing through it.

This is certainly welcome news for both the Diamondbacks and Chicago White Sox. Arizona would love to see their primary table-setter back in the lineup as soon as possible. For the White Sox, rumors have swirled around acquiring Escobar as a replacement for the injured Nick Madrigal.

Obviously, Chicago would like Madrigal's potential replacement to also not go down with an injury.

Currently, Escobar is slashing .240/.288/.455 at the top of Arizona's lineup with 10 doubles, 15 home runs and 45 RBIs. This is one of the best offensive starts to his lengthy MLB career and has him facing a real opportunity to go compete for a championship in Chicago.

The White Sox sit atop the AL Central standings with their 43-29 overall record. Additionally, FanDuel Sportsbook's latest MLB futures give the White Sox the second-best odds (+700) to win the 2021 World Series. If Escobar's injury was deemed as anything serious, that could potentially quash these trade rumors right in their tracks.
