The Philadelphia Eagles can officially game plan for their opponents next season now that their 2022 NFL schedule has been released.

The Eagles have a great opportunity to return to the playoffs next season due to them having the third-easiest schedule, according to ESPN's Mike Clay. Even with that being the case, a handful of their upcoming opponents are certainly a lot easier than others.

Here's a look at the three easiest games on the Eagles' schedule in 2022.

Philadelphia Eagles Schedule 2022

1. Week 1: @ Detroit Lions

The Eagles have the privilege of facing off against the Detroit Lions in Week 1 of the 2022 campaign. Even though the Lions have undergone some changes this spring, including drafting Aidan Hutchinson second overall, they're still projected to be one of the worst in the NFL. The matchup is looking even juicier when it comes to the ground game after the Eagles led the league with 156.1 rushing yards per contest in 2021. Meanwhile, the Lions were a bottom-five group against the run, making this a promising matchup for Philadelphia.

2. Week 4: vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Eagles matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars is promising for multiple reasons. Few teams in recent history have been as bad as the Jaguars, who've averaged 4.2 wins over the last 10 seasons and just finished last in 2021. Furthermore, Trevor Lawrence still has much to learn after throwing an NFL-worst 17 interceptions as a rookie, so there's no telling how he'll look this early in the season. Philadelphia has also won three straight matchups against Jacksonville and hasn't lost to the Jaguars at home since 2006. Easy games like this don't come around too often and the Eagles must jump on that opportunity.

3. Week 9: @ Houston Texans

Another team projected to be a basement-dweller is the Houston Texans, with FanDuel Sportsbook setting their win total to just 3.5. It's hard to get excited about anything the Texans are doing on either side of the ball. And the Eagles have historically dominated the Texans, winning each of the five all-time meetings between the two teams. Philadelphia has also scored 30-plus points four times against Houston and could easily make it a fifth when Week 9 rolls around.
