The Philadelphia Eagles have staked their claim as a legit Super Bowl contender after starting the year 6-0. Though they're the only remaining undefeated squad, that doesn't mean Philly will sit things out ahead of the NFL trade deadline.

In fact, the latest rumor links the team to a potential addition at a premium position.

According to a recent article from ESPN insiders Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano, teams around the league believe Philadelphia is looking to acquire a pass-rusher at the deadline. This target especially makes sense given EDGE Derek Barnett was lost for the year in Week 1 due to a torn ACL.

"Teams say the Eagles are looking for pass-rush help after the loss of Derek Barnett to injury."

Investing in already top-ranked defense would only bolster the Eagles' Super Bowl aspirations. This unit already ranks top ten in sacks and is seventh-highest in QB pressure percentage, so the thought of them getting any better is extremely exciting.

Also working in Philadelphia's favor is the fact several top pass-rushers are rumored to be available ahead of the deadline. Denver Broncos stud Bradley Chubb and Carolina Panthers star Brian Burns are generating buzz as potential candidates to be moved.

It'd cost Howie Roseman to make a deal for someone of that caliber, but he does have the New Orleans Saints 2022 first-round pick (which is currently No. 4 overall) in his back pocket.

Expect the Eagles to be busy working the phones and scoping out deals to strengthen this roster for a playoff push. Philadelphia is currently second in FanDuel Sportsbook's Super Bowl odds at +550.
