Eagles Draft Rumors Link Team to Exciting Prospect

The Philadelphia Eagles have a few key areas to address this offseason. As the initial frenzy of free agency winds down, Philadelphia will now turn its focus toward the upcoming NFL Draft in April.

The latest draft rumors link the Eagles to an exciting prospect at a position of need.

Standout Georgia defensive tackle Jordan Davis is scheduled to vist with Philadelphia, according to Bleeding Green Nation. He added the visit is expected to happen "soon," and the thought of the Eagles drafting him makes him excited given how he looks up to team veteran Fletcher Cox.

"There’s not really too much I can say right now other than that, but we have been in contact. For me, it works great (if the Eagles drafted him). I loved watching Fletcher Cox growing up. I try to pattern part of my game after him and I love how dominant he is.”

This news should certainly excite fans. Not only is the team targeting a key position, but one of the top prospects would also embrace the opportunity to follow a team legend.

Davis looks like a potential star at the next level. The 6-foot-6, 340-pound force dominated opponents during his four years at Georgia, racking up a combined 7.0 sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss. He's coming off of a ninth-place finish in Heisman voting this past year after recording 5 TFL and 2.0 sacks for the national champion Bulldogs.

There's no telling how much Davis could learn from Cox if the two end up being teammates. With the latter's long-term future up in the air after recently signing a one-year deal, he could groom Davis to take over in the middle for years to come.
