Dolphins Take Major Step Towards Potential Terron Armstead Free Agent Signing

Just a few days after initial reports linked the Miami Dolphins to elite free-agent offensive lineman Terron Armstead, those talks have intensified.
Miami will take the next step on Monday, hosting Armstead in an official free-agent visit in South Florida.

#Saints free agent OT Terron Armstead is flying tonight to South Florida and is set to visit the #Dolphins tomorrow, per me and @TomPelissero. One of the top players available in free agency, Armstead would fill a huge need for Miami. ✈️

The three-time Pro Bowl left tackle is considered one of the best available o-lineman in this year's class. Armstead made a pretty immediate impact in the NFL, earning starts in every game played since his rookie campaign back in 2013.
The former nine-year New Orleans Saint did only make eight starts a year ago due to injuries, but combined for 29 throughout 2019 and 2020.
Even in limited action, Armstead still earned a 75.9 overall rating from PFF, allowing just one sack and three penalties across 468 snaps. His signing would be a huge boost for the Dolphins' current o-line unit, which struggled greatly in 2020 to the tune of a dead-last ranking by PFF's positional analysis.
New head coach Mike McDaniel is committed to surrounding quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with the tools to succeed, and brining in Armstead is another prime example of that.
