By Larry Rupp

The Los Angeles Dodgers look to be cruising to another playoff berth as they currently hold the first National League wild card position with a record of 53-32. The team recently decided to make a move to bolster its bullpen depth by signing veteran relief pitcher Neftali Feliz to a minor league contract.
The #Dodgers are signing veteran reliever Neftali Feliz, 33, to a minor-league contract. The former 2010 AL Rookie of the Year and All-Star pitched two games for the #Phillies this year before being released.

Feliz hadn't pitched in the major leagues since 2017 before he was called up by the Philadelphia Phillies in the middle of June. He only appeared in two games with the team before getting released, posting an 0-1 record and gave up 4 earned runs in just 1.0 inning of work.
The Dodgers' pitching staff has been nothing short of fantastic this season. In fact, their bullpen ERA of 3.41 ranks as the fifth-best mark in all of baseball. The reigning World Series champions know how important it is to have reliable arms pitching in the late innings of meaningful games.
Feliz is a 10-year pro and a suitable candidate to be called up if an injury occurs or when roster sizes increase late in the season. The Dodgers are certainly hoping he can get back to the form he showed early on in Triple-A this year where he posted a 1.26 ERA and 0.977 WHIP across 14.1 innings pitched.
The Dodgers remain a powerhouse team and are the sole favorites to win the World Series with odds set at +400, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
