The University of Alabama Crimson Tide are no strangers to super talented wide receivers. From Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley to Amari Cooper and Jerry Jeudy, they have had plenty of stellar wideouts come through Tuscaloosa over the years.
However, a current one, DeVonta Smith, could soon join an elite group at Alabama that not all of those aforementioned guys can claim membership of. Smith needs only 97 more yards to become the fourth player in Alabama school history to have multiple seasons of at least 1,000 receiving yards.
Being put in the same sentence as the guys on that list is impressive enough, but doing something that many of them haven't before is really noteworthy.
With a big game in the Iron Bowl against Auburn, Smith could see his name etched in Alabama history forever.
