Deshaun Watson has requested a trade from the Houston Texans, but the no-trade clause in his contract gives him a lot of leverage. Reports about where he would like to be traded are beginning to surface, but there's one pretty glaring omission from Watson's list.

According to reports, the San Francisco 49ers are not on that three-team list.

Deshaun Watson Trade Rumors

According to Offsides With Marc Ryan, Watson is reportedly interested in joining: the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets and Carolina Panthers.

The fact that the 49ers aren't on his list is pretty fascinating. San Francisco has a much more talented roster than any of those three franchises. Putting Watson in Kyle Shanahan's system alongside weapons like Deebo Samuel, George Kittle and Brandon Aiyuk could be the recipe for a truly lethal offense.

While the defense might not be the Super Bowl-caliber unit we saw in 2019, the 49ers should still have more than enough talent to compete on that side of the ball. Even if the secondary takes a step back, Nick Bosa, Fred Warner, Javon Kinlaw and Arik Armstead give SF one of the best front sevens in the league.

There's plenty of time left for Watson to change his mind. And if he does ultimately end up in San Francisco, this team would immediately be viewed as a Super Bowl contender.
