Deebo Samuel's contract negotiations with the San Francisco 49ers have seemingly reached a boiling point. ESPN's Adam Schefter revealed Tuesday night that Samuel has haulted contract talks with the team, which immediately sparked trade speculation and put 49ers fans on edge.
Deebo Samuel Trade Rumors
Now Samuel's brother has added further fuel to the fire.
Deebo Samuel Brother
Tyquan Samuel, Deebo's brother, said on Facebook "don't worry we asking for a trade" with laughing emojis on Tuesday night in reponse to the trade buzz surrounding the current 49ers wideout.
Though this is nothing concrete, it's certainly concerning. Schefter said that San Francisco wants to pay Samuel, but added that the 2021 All-Pro is seemingly weighing a decision on whether he wants to stay with the team for the long term.
Yet Samuel's brother is under the impression that Deebo wants out, period, and will request a trade. There's no denying a close family member could have the ultimate insight into the situation, which makes Tyquan Samuel's comment all the more interesting.
Niners fans will have to hope that the team can somehow get back in Samuel's good graces and hammer out a deal. Despite a red-hot market for WRs, Schefter said San Francisco is ready to open up its checkbook to pay the dual threat after his standout 2021 campaign.
It's hard to imagine both sides benefiting from a blockbuster move, so hopefully cooler heads will prevail this offseason.
