Five signal-callers went in the first 15 picks of the 2021 NFL Draft. Stanford's Davis Mills wasn't among them. But had things gone a bit differently in his college career, perhaps he could've been. Coming out of high school, Mills was the Country's top-ranked passer in the 2017 recruiting class.

But a litany of injuries limited him to just 14 games in his collegiate career.

Now healthy, Mills will be looking to make a name for himself at the next level. Though he's something of an unknown commodity because of that injury history, Mills could be a great high-upside pick for a QB-needy team on Day 2. With FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL Draft odds suggesting he'll be the first QB picked in Round 2, here are the most likely NFL Draft destinations for Mills on Friday night.

Davis Mills Draft Stock

3. Pittsburgh Steelers (No. 55, No. 87)

Having only played a handful games at the collegiate level, Mills does not seem like a particularly pro-ready prospect. But that could make him a nice fit with each of the three teams on this list. With the Pittsburgh Steelers, there's no chance Mills would play anytime soon. He'd potentially be the QB5 behind Ben Roethlisberger, Mason Rudolph, Dwayne Haskins and Joshua Dobbs. With Big Ben likely to retire after the season, a hopefully healthy Mills could compete for the starting job with the other developmental options in 2022. With no surefire long-term replacement on the roster, having that many dart throws at QB is a shrewd strategy.

2. Atlanta Falcons (No. 68)

The Atlanta Falcons aren't moving off from Matt Ryan anytime soon. After drafting Kyle Pitts over a QB, it's looking like offensive guru Arthur Smith took the job to maximize the tail end of Ryan's prime –– not groom his successor. Ryan's contract will likely keep him in Atlanta for the next couple seasons, but the Falcons could be looking for his replacement after 2022. Having a prospect as talented as Mills could help ease that transition, especially since he can get healthy as he learns behind Ryan for two years. If he slips into Round 3, the value could be too good for Atlanta to pass up.

1. Washington Football Team (No. 51, No. 74, No. 82)

The Washington Football Team can draft Mills and develop him behind Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is a famously great mentor to young QBs. In terms of pure talent, Mills definitely has the ability to take over down the road if he can stay healthy. Washington has three picks on Day 2, and using one on Mills feels like a savvy gamble for an organization that needs to find its QB of the future.
