Houston Texans' star running back David Johnson has been ruled out of the team's Week 9 game against the Chicago Bears due to a concussion. His status for Week 10 will depend on how quickly he can clear the league's concussion protocol.
If he's sidelined, Duke Johnson could be looking at a significant uptick in fantasy value against the Cleveland Browns in Week 10.
Duke Johnson Fantasy Outlook
Prior to this week, David Johnson was averaging 17.8 opportunities (14.4 carries plus 3.4 targets) per game. If he's out, it's fair to expect Duke to receive the lion's share of the touches in the backfield next week.
Filling in for David this week, Duke has recorded 7 carries for 18 yards and a TD, adding another 14 yards on 2 catches (as of the writing of this article). Facing a slightly below average Browns' defense next week (No. 19 in Football Outsiders' DVOA metrics), Duke will be one of the hottest waiver wire pickups of the week if David can't go.
