The Las Vegas Raiders had an offense to be competitive with anyone in 2020, but the defense often failed them, leading the team to just an 8-8 record. Still, with top weapons coming back and the chance to improve this offseason, there's optimism that the Raiders can compete for a playoff spot next season.

In fact, star tight end Darren Waller says it's playoffs or bust for the Raiders in 2021.

Waller believes Las Vegas should have a "no excuses" approach to next season. It's a strong statement to make, but it what's a leader on the team should be saying.

"I feel like we're right there outside of a few plays even the defense would agree can't happen. We're right there. So I believe in these guys and I know that this year is going to be a special year for us."

It wasn't for Waller's lack of trying that the Raiders fell short in 2020. The defense was a weak spot, and the team's first-round picks weren't as impactful as hoped.

Meanwhile, the tight end one-upped his career year in 2019 with 107 receptions, 1,196 yards and 9 TDs last season, proving to be one of the best at his position.

Head coach Jon Gruden is sure to be active this offseason, and with the right moves, the Raiders could finally snap their current four-year drought without a postseason appearance.
