The Las Vegas Raiders haven't taken home an AFC West divisional title since 2002. Their intentions are to end that ugly streak this time around, but they will have to stay healthy on offense to do so. Starting tight end Darren Waller was absent from training camp on Friday with a concerning injury.

Waller was held out of practice due to a hamstring injury and the good news is that early reports suggest it is not a serious issue. He likely won't play in Sunday's preseason game, though. It's important to keep in mind that Waller has dealt with a lot of lower-body injuries during his career.

The 29-year-old was placed on the season-ending injured reserve back in 2015 with a hamstring strain and then suffered an AC joint sprain in 2019. More recently, Waller did not play in the 2021 preseason and missed six games during the regular season because of ankle, knee and back issues.

Hamstring injuries have been notably tough for pass-catchers to overcome. Waller relies on his legs every single play, whether he is using them to block an opposing lineman or change direction in a route. With under a month until the season starts, getting Waller back to full health is a top priority.

Waller was on pace to cross the 1,000-yard mark for the third straight year in 2021 before injuries kept him on the sideline. The Pro Bowl talent hauled in 55 of his 93 targets for 665 yards and 2 touchdowns in 11 games. Waller enters 2022 as one of quarterback Derek Carr's go-to targets.

The Raiders have odds set at +4000 to win Super Bowl 57, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
