Following last week's three top-20 finishes by the dark horse picks, including sixth place by Aaron Wise at The CJ Cup, the PGA Tour heads to Southampton, Bermuda for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

Higher winds and rain are in the forecast for this year's event along Bermuda's coastline. Last year's winning score was 15-under par as longshot Australian Lucas Herbert prevailed by one stroke over fellow Aussie Danny Lee in one of the weakest fields of the year on the PGA Tour. This year, Seamus Power is the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 48 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

This is the third year of the event at Port Royal Golf Course, a 6,828-yard Par 71 public course designed by Robert Trent Jones with Atlantic Ocean views throughout. Strong putters have prevailed and won or contended at the Bermuda Championship, and this year's favorite Denny McCarthy ranks No. 1 in Strokes Gained Putting in this field over his last 50 rounds.

Butterfield Bermuda Championship Dark Horse Picks 2022

With plenty of lesser-known players and more longshots on the FanDuel Sportsbook betting board, here are 3 longshots and dark horses that could make a run at the leaderboard and come away with a higher finish or victory on Sunday.

Check out the Butterfield Bermuda Championship odds along with finishing position odds and tournament matchups on FanDuel Sportsbook.

1. Russell Knox (+2900)

Russell Knox is one of eight players in this year's field who has multiple top-20 finishes in this tournament. The 37-year-old Scotsman plays well in the wind and shot 67-67 over the weekend last year to finish T-12. In all three Bermuda starts this fall, Knox ranked top-3 in Greens in Regulation. The short and accurate driver should do well again hitting narrow fairways and handling the wind and rain. Only nine golfers have lower odds than Knox, who is down to +2900 to win and clearly capable of contending and winning, as dark horse Keegan Bradley did at +2900 two weeks ago at the ZOZO Championship.

2. Adam Long (+3700)

Adam Long ranks No. 2 in this field in Putting on Bermuda greens. This will be his debut in this tournament, but he looks like a good course fit. Long ranks top-10 in this field in Tee to Green, Approach and Good Drives Gained while playing in high winds. Long has six top-25 finishes in his last 12 starts and has done well on shorter courses. Only three players in this field finished ahead of Long in Strokes-Gained total stats last season.

3. Chesson Hadley (+4500)

Chesson Hadley ranked top-15 on Tour in Putting last season and ranks No. 3 in this field. He can be hit or miss with his driving accuracy a concern, but he can club down as needed. Hadley finished 16th on debut here in 2020 despite not playing nearly as well prior to the event. Hadley's approach play is much improved, and he's one of the better players in the wind at this year's event as well.
