Running back D'Andre Swift has been dealing with a groin injury that caused him to be listed as questionable in Week 5. It's all good news for the Detroit Lions, though. Swift is now expected to play on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, giving the team a huge boost in the backfield.

D'Andre Swift Fantasy Outlook

Swift's participation in practice varied this past week, but all signs point to him being ready to go by kickoff. The second-year pro has racked up 338 total yards on 64 so far this season to go along with 2 touchdowns. His ability to make an impact in the passing game gives him a lot of value in PPR scoring leagues.

Fantasy managers rostering Swift should have no hesitation sliding him into a starting slot this week. The Vikings are giving up the 11th-most PPR fantasy points to opposing running backs in addition to 4.8 yards per carry (No. 28 in NFL).

The only thing holding Swift back from a true breakout season is the tendency for the Lions to ride the hot hand. Backup Jamaal Williams saw 16 carries last week, but Swift did play in a season-high 73% of the offensive snaps. Meanwhile, Williams posted a season-low snap rate of just 30%.

Swift plays a key role for this Lions' offense and should see enough volume to finish as a RB1 this week. The 22-year-old checks in at RB10 in The Duel's Week 5 fantasy football rankings.
