Dalvin Cook Gives Update on Ankle Injury

Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is the focal point of the team's offense, and their overall performance rests heavily on his shoulders. That's why his lingering ankle injury has been such an important storyline in Minnesota's camp.
On Wednesday, Cook provided an update on his ankle injury and it was candid, to say the least.
Dalvin Cook said he thinks he'll continue to be able to play through this lingering ankle injury. "That’s the plan. I don’t feel like I'm getting worse or heading in the wrong direction."

Dalvin Cook Injury Update
The update can be taken as both good and bad news from the Vikings' perspective. Although Cook assured he can play through this injury, he also notes his progress has sort of hit a plateau. "I don't feel like I'm getting worse or heading in the wrong direction," said Cook.
Obviously, the goal is to see Cook at 100% health and with zero lingering injury issues. However, this seems to just not be possible and understandably so, given the importance of ankle injuries to running backs.
Cook returned in Week 4, but was not his usual self. The two-time Pro Bowler played in a season-low 49% of the offensive snaps and managed just 34 rushing yards on 9 carries.
It'll be interesting to see if Cook is able to ramp up closer to his workhorse back usage, or if he'll remain somewhat limited but available in Week 5.
Minnesota takes on the Detroit Lions in Week 5 and are comfortable 8.5-point favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook.
